CROWNS
A crown is a restoration used to cap, or completely cover a tooth. If there is an excessive amount of decay or structural damage to a tooth, Dr. Eckermann may recommend a crown to restore the tooth. The circumstances of a damaged tooth or decayed tooth dictate the treatment plan. In a situation where there is not enough tooth structure and the consequent forces of function that the tooth will endure are great, a crown may be the proper treatment. Crowns are a lab processed restoration, the materials used vary from all porcelain, porcelain fused to metal or full cast gold crowns. Dr. Eckermann will discuss which material is best for your dental health.
